Some of the brightest talents in sports often fall short before they can reach their potential. The missed opportunity often redirects them in life, but they occasionally wonder what would have happened if they stayed on track in their career. Underground Foot Racing is a platform that provides former track stars and runners with a second chance to run the tracks.

Underground Foot Racing is a platform whose mission is to provide the overlooked and those in need of a second chance with the opportunity to run tracks as a sport again. It was founded with the belief that running should be a year-round sport. Underground wanted to create a stage for competitors to showcase their skills in an environment where everyone fits in and, despite their past, uplifts one another.

Several key factors make Underground Foot Racing unique. The first is that they are the pioneering company in the market to provide a consistent racing program. Underground has no competition whatsoever, clearing the road for them to establish themselves as a household name.

Underground Foot Racing offers several programs for people of all ages to enjoy. They hold two types of tournaments: the knock-out tournament and the one-on-one. In knock-out, people are placed in a 32-man bracket where they race until one winner is left running. The winner then gets bragging rights and the chance to pick a cause to donate to. In one-on-one races, people get to challenge each other.

However, Underground knows how bland that can be, so they decided to create three races. Runners can either do Head-to-Head, Watch-’em-Leave, On-the-Whistle, or Big Man Race. They can either let their opponent get a head start or exhibit their speed. Teenagers and children under the age of fifteen are also allowed to take part in one-on-one races.

Underground Foot Racing was born from the mind of Jonell Hunter, who was a top track star in high school and whose athleticism saw many colleges and universities recruit him. However, after getting into legal trouble, the young star was forced to forfeit his scholarship offers. Hunter spent time in jail and often wondered how his life would have turned up if he never got into trouble. Even as he grew older, his passion for running never left.

Jonell Hunter decided that he wanted to end his running days on his own terms, giving birth to Underground Foot Racing. It was a giant leap, but Hunter was sure that he wasn’t alone. Undoubtedly there were others out there who felt they had unfinished business on the track.

Today, Underground Foot Racing has welcomed many runners from all walks of life. They have an upcoming event this December 19th, which will be their first monthly social to end the year off right. Hunter and Underground will be providing scholarships and preparing to launch the Underground Foot Racing Athletic Program, which is designed to provide hands-on training and mentoring for the underprivileged and undiscovered athletes. With the company’s focus on athletes and the fitness industry, they will be connecting with aspiring athletes who will work with semi-pro and professional athletes.

Jonell Hunter is confident that Underground Foot Racing will be a household brand. In a few years, he hopes that they will be able to bring their mission beyond the United States and provide opportunities and inspire athletes who never thought they would get a second chance to run tracks again.
