Henry Oyekanmi, more famously known as ØHENRY, is taking the music world by storm with his latest project, Hollywood Love. The singer/songwriter from Oakland, California, is dishing out a set of personal tracks in this latest EP. As the name implies, each song on the project takes from his experiences about the first year he moved to Los Angeles from Oakland. The entire project tells his personal story and the struggles Henry faced while trying to find real love in modern-day Hollywood.

ØHENRY is not only a singer/songwriter and producer. He’s a multi-talented musician that plays the drums, piano, guitar, and bass. He graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in music business management and has traveled the world performing with the most well-renowned artists in the music industry. Most recently, Henry was a part of Selena Gomez’s new album, Rare. He sang background vocals and played percussion on the song “Ring.”

ØHENRY was also part of Bankrol Hayden’s debut album Pain Is Temporary, where he wrote the song “Ballin.” The versatile artist has also released some of his own work throughout his music career. His EP Red Roses has built his brand and garnered him a lot of fans over the years, and now with his brand-new project, he’s looking to tell an even bigger story and attract a wider audience with his sheer musical talent and his larger than life personality.

Every song on Hollywood Love is packed with a story. The entire project recounts ØHENRY’s realizations about the fake love that goes around in Hollywood. Some songs on the record tell tales of how he got caught up with the lifestyle and the women. He realized how easy it was to get distracted and how people in Hollywood really aren’t who they say they are.

For this brand new project, ØHENRY teamed up with producer Rio Root, who is also a Bay Area native, to create a stylistic musical journey that is nothing but Henry. The album is a pure sonic experience, an accurate recounting of Henry’s experiences put into heart-thumping beats and clever wordplay, Hollywood Love is a solid EP that stands out in his ever-expanding discography.

The song “Put It In Park” tells the story of his first tinder date in Los Angeles. “Put it in park, I like it better when we in the dark,” says one of the catchiest hooks in the entire EP, as Henry breaks down how everything went down during the first night he met the girl.

Opening with the song “Been Through,” the EP couldn’t have a better introduction as he painfully sings the titular lyrics: “You don’t know what i’ve been through.” The song solidifies what the project signifies in the life of ØHENRY, a learning experience, a cautionary tale, a realization that Hollywood isn’t what it seems and that love is something hard to come by.

Hollywood Love is a project one shouldn’t miss. Every track on the record is as amazing as the next one. As ØHENRY sings with harder beats than his usual normal R&B approach, he further proves that he is a versatile artist that has what it takes to rise up in the music industry. Fans of his work should look out for more amazing content in the years to come. With the release of Hollywood Love, ØHENRY boldly claims that he’s just getting started.
